Baseball Recap: Keene Comes Up Short

Keene fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Bishop Guertin on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 3-2. The Blackbirds have struggled against the Cardinals recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Fitch Hennessey put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Colin Tinnin made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Keene's record is now 6-4. As for Bishop Guertin, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-3.

Looking ahead, Keene will venture away from home to take on Brattleboro at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Bishop Guertin, they will host Windham at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
