Basketball Recap: Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering Falls Despite Big Games from Deaundrea Visor and Adrianna Toy

Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the University Tigers, falling 50-29. The defeat continues a trend for the Phoenix in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost six in a row.

Adrianna Toy and Deaundrea Visor certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Toy posted eight points and nine steals, while Visor scored six points and eight steals. Toy is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for University, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-3.

Coming up, Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Douglass at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Red Devils' defense has only allowed 25.8 points per game this season, so the Phoenix's offense will have their work cut out for them.
