Soccer Game Preview: Bastrop vs. Sharpstown

The Bastrop Bears will venture away from home to face off against the Sharpstown Apollos at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bastrop's last eight contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Bastrop is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They beat Pflugerville Connally by a goal, winning 2-1.

Cayden Justice and Angel Chavez Hernandez scored both of Bastrop's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 25 goals.

Meanwhile, Sharpstown waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was the Apollos who were credited with the victory. Sharpstown got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Terry's three. Given Sharpstown's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 207th, while Terry are ranked 440th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bastrop's record is now 14-5-4. As for Sharpstown, their record now sits at 19-6.
