Corona del Mar and Huntington Beach are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2022, but not for long. The Sea Kings are taking a road trip to take on the Oilers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Corona del Mar is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over Carlsbad.

Meanwhile, Huntington Beach faced Redondo Union in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Oilers came out on top against the Sea Hawks by a score of 3-1. The Oilers haven't had any issues with the Sea Hawks recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

While Huntington Beach might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Redondo Union scored at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 22-25, 25-20, 25-18.

Huntington Beach pushed their record up to 35-4 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home. As for Corona del Mar, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-6 record this season.

Corona del Mar came up short against Huntington Beach in their previous meeting back in April, falling 3-1. Can the Sea Kings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
