Venice waltzed into their game on Friday with 12 straight wins... but they left with 13. They blew past the Westchester Comets 17-0. The result was nothing new for the Gondoliers, who have now won 13 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Canon King made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Jesse Dominguez and Charlie Nisbet did most of the damage at the plate: Dominguez went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Nisbet went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave Nisbet a new career-high. Ryan Shepard was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.

Venice always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Westchester only posted an OBP of .176.

Venice pushed their record up to 20-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road. As for Westchester, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.

Venice didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-2 victory against Loyola on the 26th. As for Westchester, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 11-8 defeat against Hamilton on the 28th.
