Mt. Zion waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They had just enough and edged the Manchester Blue Devils out 72-70. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 64-61 victory last Friday.

Jaedyn Terry and Dre Mcghee certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Terry posted 20 points and seven rebounds, while Mcghee scored 20 points and eight boards. The game was Terry's fifth in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Jhiere Terry, who earned eight points and seven boards.

Mt. Zion's victory bumped their record up to 19-8. As for Manchester, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-4.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Eagles duke it out with the Hawks on Wednesday. One thing working in Central's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight contests. As for Manchester, they will be playing at home against Macon County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Manchester is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.4 points per game this season.
