Basketball Game Preview: International Gryphons vs. Purdue Broad Ripple Lynx

The International Gryphons will face off against the Purdue Broad Ripple Lynx at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

International is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 61 points back in February, they were much more limited against Riverside on Tuesday. They were beaten by the Argonauts 71-25. The defeat continues a trend for the Gryphons in their matchups with the Argonauts: they've now lost four in a row.

Peter Machado put forth a good effort for the losing side as he dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down ten or more in each of the last six games he's played.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 83-47, which was the final score in Purdue Broad Ripple's tilt against Tindley last Friday.

Purdue Broad Ripple's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-14. As for International, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.

International strolled past Purdue Broad Ripple in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a score of 71-54. The rematch might be a little tougher for International since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
