Volleyball Recap: Head-Royce Takes a Loss

If Head-Royce was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Redwood Christian on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Jayhawks fell 3-1 to the Albany Cougars on Thursday. The Jayhawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.

Head-Royce started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 29-27, 25-18, 25-20.

Head-Royce's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Albany, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Head-Royce will welcome Brave Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Albany, they will challenge St. Patrick-St. Vincent at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
