Baseball Recap: Citrus Hill Picks Up Ninth Straight Win at Home

Citrus Hill waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Hillcrest Trojans by a score of 5-1.

Noe Mendoza made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Mendoza was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was his first of the season.

Mendoza wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kaden Farmer, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Farmer also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

Citrus Hill pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Hillcrest, they suffered their first road defeat, dropping their record down to 3-2-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Citrus Hill will welcome Ramona at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ramona has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed eight runs per game on average), something Citrus Hill will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Hillcrest, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Orange Vista at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Orange Vista's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Hillcrest's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
