Basketball Game Preview: Carroll Cougars vs. Rossville Hornets

Carroll is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Friday. They will venture away from home to square off against the Rossville Hornets at 7:30 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Carroll has struggled recently with six defeats in a row, while Rossville will arrive with four straight wins.

On Friday, Carroll came up short against Caston and fell 63-52.

Meanwhile, Rossville posted their closest victory since February 15th on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Frontier 58-55.

Carroll better keep an eye on Brayden Thiele-Hahn. He was instrumental in Rossville's win, as he made all 6 shots he took from beyond the arc racking up 26 points and six rebounds. Thiele-Hahn's big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Cooper Dunn was another key player, putting up 12 points and five boards.

Carroll's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Rossville, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.

Carroll was able to grind out a solid win over Rossville in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 62-52. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
