Lanier found their leader in sophomore Knolyn Bailey, who rushed for 150 yards and one touchdown while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. Bailey is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 110 every time he's taken the field this season.
Lanier's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Murrah, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
Everything went Murrah's way against Lanier when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Murrah made off with a 28-8 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
