Mexia has gone 9-1 against Fairfield recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Mexia Black Cats are taking a road trip to face off against the Fairfield Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1012th, while the Sandies are ranked 310th).

Fairfield's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Mexia, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-10 record this season.
