Recap: South Miami Cobras vs. Goleman Gators
This season hasn't been kind to the South Miami Cobras, who are still winless after their fifth matchup. They were outmatched by Goleman on the road and fell 69-3. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points South Miami has scored all season.
Goleman's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jasmin Brown, who scored 18 points along with six steals and five rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Brown has scored at least 25% of Goleman's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Akayla Edwards, who scored 22 points.
South Miami's defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-5. As for Goleman, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.
South Miami's road trip will continue as they head out to face Hialeah at 5:00 p.m. on December 20th. Hialeah comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Goleman will be home for the holidays to greet Reagan at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Reagan comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last seven games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
