Softball Game Preview: Capitan Tigers vs. Mesilla Valley Christian School SonBlazers

For the second straight game, Capitan will face off against Mesilla Valley Christian School. The Tigers will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the SonBlazers at 3:00 p.m.

Capitan lost 7-1 to Mesilla Valley Christian School on Saturday. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the SonBlazers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

For Mesilla Valley Christian School's part, Maren Fiske spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Stailey Faust was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lillian Balizan, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Mesilla Valley Christian School and bumps their season record up to 10-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Capitan, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.
