Appalachian hadn't done well against Spring Garden recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Eagles came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 20-8. The Eagles' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Leading Appalachian to victory were Colton Caldwell and Braden Gilliland. Caldwell rushed for 101 yards and two scores, while Gilliland rushed for 70 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries. Those 101 rushing yards gave Caldwell a new career-high.

Appalachian's record is now 7-0. As for Spring Garden, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Appalachian is set to square off against their familiar foe Ragland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Gilliland and A'Ron Lee. Meanwhile, Spring Garden will challenge rival Gaylesville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
