Baseball Recap: Eight Straight Home Wins for Peyton

There's no place like home for Peyton, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Rye Thunderbolts with a sharp 9-1 win on Tuesday. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Thunderbolts recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Noah Martin and Bryce Love made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Martin didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Meanwhile, Love tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Martin has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Martin scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4, while Love scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave Martin a new career-high.

In other batting news, Liam Stewart was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

Peyton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rye only posted a batting average of .080.

Peyton's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Rye, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Looking ahead, Peyton will head out on the road to take on Byers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.5 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Rye, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fowler at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. The Grizzlies will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Thunderbolts surely won't give up without a fight.
