Baseball Recap: Nottoway Comes Up Short

Nottoway was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 14-2 to the Goochland Bulldogs. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2022.

Jadarrian Hendricks was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Nottoway's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Goochland, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Nottoway will challenge Mecklenburg County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Phoenix have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season. As for Goochland, they will face off against J.R. Tucker at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.17 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
