Softball Recap: Edmonds-Woodway Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Edmonds-Woodway extended their winning streak to three on Monday, bumping their season record up to 14-5 in the process. They walked away with an 11-6 victory over the Archbishop Murphy Wildcats. That's two games straight that the Warriors have won by exactly five runs.

The team relied heavily on Maddie Jones, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Catie Ingalls was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Edmonds-Woodway hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive games.

As for Archbishop Murphy, their loss dropped their record down to 12-7. They haven't had much luck with Edmonds-Woodway recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

On Archbishop Murphy's side, Markella Vick made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Carly Madhavan, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Edmonds-Woodway is set to square off against their familiar foe Mountlake Terrace at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Archbishop Murphy will face off against rival Meadowdale at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
