Baseball Game Preview: West Platte Bluejays vs. Penney Hornets

The West Platte Bluejays will face off against the Penney Hornets at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in West Platte's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Penney has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.

11 must be West Platte's lucky number: they beat Osborn with that score not once but twice on Tuesday. The Bluejays beat the Wildcats by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-1. The Bluejays might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by eight runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Penney's offense. They lost 10-0 to Braymer on Tuesday. The match marked the first time this year in which the Hornets were not able to get on the board.

Penney's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for West Platte, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.

Everything went West Platte's way against Penney in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as West Platte made off with a 14-1 victory. Will the Bluejays repeat their success, or do the Hornets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
