Volleyball Recap: Caledonia Victorious

While Caledonia's victory against Mona Shores wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Fighting Scots won by a set and slipped past the Sailors 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Fighting Scots in their matchups with the Sailors: they've now won four in a row.

Caledonia was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-21, 25-27, 25-16, 15-13.

Avery Seif was nothing short of spectacular: she had 26 digs and one assist. Those 26 digs gave her a new career-high.

Caledonia's victory bumped their record up to 18-16. As for Mona Shores, their loss dropped their record down to 16-13.

Caledonia and Mona Shores should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. The Fighting Scots (ranked 44th) will meet Reeths-Puffer (ranked 183rd) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Mona Shores will face off against Montague at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (62 vs. 449).
