Softball Game Preview: Toronto Red Knights vs. The Linsly School Cadets

The Toronto Red Knights are taking a road trip to take on The Linsly School Cadets at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Linsly School took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Toronto, who comes in off a win.

Toronto was handed a eight-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Bridgeport 9-8.

Jaylee Brown was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabelle Cattrell, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, The Linsly School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 7-1 to Weir.

Alyssa Heath made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles. Macy Sustik also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 7-8. As for The Linsly School, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.

The Linsly School's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Toronto hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .316. It's a different story for The Linsly School, though, as they've only averaged .232. Will they be able to contain Toronto's hitters?

Toronto might still be hurting after the 19-7 loss they got from The Linsly School when the teams last played back in March. Can the Red Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
