Basketball Recap: Avoyelles Victorious

Avoyelles posted their closest win since December 17, 2024 on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Buckeye Panthers, sneaking past 53-50. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 37-32 back in November of 2024.

The victory made it two in a row for Avoyelles and bumps their season record up to 15-12. As for Buckeye, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-14.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Avoyelles will host St. Joseph's - Plaucheville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Buckeye, they will challenge Plainview at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Plainview knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Buckeye likes a good challenge.
