Basketball Recap: Mercy Comes Up Short

Mercy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 68-56 to the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Magic can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while the Cougars are ranked 22nd).

Mercy's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Our Lady of Mount Carmel, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mercy will challenge Pallotti at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Our Lady of Mount Carmel, they will square off against Archbishop Spalding at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
