Recap: Franklin Panthers vs. West Henderson Falcons
The Franklin Panthers fell victim to the West Henderson Falcons''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They took a serious blow against the Falcons, falling 41-0. While losing is never fun, Franklin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 249th, while West Henderson is ranked 43rd).
Anderson Terrell threw for 60 yards on six of 12 attempts. Braylon Dezarn was his top target, picking up 42 receiving yards and no touchdowns.
It was another big night for Carson Dimsdale, who rushed for 170 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.4 yards per carry. Dimsdale hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for nine straight games. Tayman Howell also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Franklin's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 7.3 points per game. As for West Henderson, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Franklin will challenge T.C. Roberson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for West Henderson, they will head out on the road to face off against Tuscola at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Tuscola is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
