Baseball Game Preview: Hamilton Big Blue vs. Fairfield Indians

Hamilton is 2-8 against Fairfield since May of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Big Blue are taking a road trip to take on the Indians at 5:00 p.m. The last three games Hamilton has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Tuesday, Hamilton didn't have quite enough to beat Sycamore and fell 8-7. That's two games in a row now that the Big Blue have lost by just one run.

Kaleb Powers was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Davidson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Fairfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Oak Hills.

Fairfield's defeat dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Hamilton, their loss dropped their record down to 7-12.

Hamilton might still be hurting after the 9-2 defeat they got from Fairfield when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Big Blue avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
