Soccer Game Preview: Van Nuys vs. Panorama

The Van Nuys Wolves will head out to square off against the Panorama Pythons at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Van Nuys' last five matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

If Panorama heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Van Nuys took over last week. Van Nuys won by a goal and slipped past Sylmar 2-1. The victory was all the more spectacular given Wolves' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 343rd, while the Spartans are ranked 163rd).

Nolberto Cartagena and Dylan Villavicencio scored both of Van Nuys' goals, bringing their combined season tally to 28 goals.

Meanwhile, Panorama was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They lost 5-0 to Reseda.

Van Nuys' win bumped their record up to 7-3-3. As for Panorama, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-13-1.
