Basketball Recap: Frankfort Takes a Loss

Frankfort was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Danville Warriors, falling 87-23. While losing is never fun, the Hot Dogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 366th, while the Warriors are ranked 66th).

Despite the loss, Frankfort saw an underclassman step up: freshman Ava Jarman posted 13 points. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for Jarman.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Danville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Addison Davis, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards. Davis has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Emma Ancelet, who went 6 of 10 on her way to 16 points in addition to five assists and five boards.

Frankfort's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Danville, they pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Frankfort will be playing in front of their home fans against Winamac at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Danville, they will venture away from home to square off against Princeton at 11:30 a.m. on Friday. Danville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.9 points per game this season.
