Basketball Game Preview: Tipton Blue Devils vs. Manchester Squires

The Tipton Blue Devils will face off against the Manchester Squires at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Tipton comes in on eight and Manchester on four.

Tipton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Grady Carpenter, who posted 18 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Carpenter's evening made it 13 games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Grayson McFalls, who went 5-for-10 on his way to 13 points in addition to six boards and three blocks.

Meanwhile, Manchester blew past Oak Hill, posting a 70-38 win. The Squires have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 17 games by 21 points or more this season.

Tipton better keep an eye on Gavin Betten. He was instrumental in Manchester's win, dropping a double-double with 40 points and 15 rebounds. Betten has been hot for a while, having posted 18 or more points the last 20 times he's played. Ethan Hendrix was another key player, putting up 13 points and seven assists.

Carpenter wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Manchester was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oak Hill only four assists.

Tipton's record is now 19-6. As for Manchester, their record is now 22-2.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Tipton has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 26.3 boards per game. However, it's not like Manchester struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29.4 rebounds.
