Softball Recap: Portland Highlanders vs. Hale Ray Noises
Portland couldn't beat Hale Ray on Friday even though they stacked six runs on them in the fifth inning. The Highlanders came up short against the Noises, falling 21-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Noises this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 25-0 back in April.
Portland's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Hale Ray, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Portland will head out to challenge Windham at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hale Ray, they will venture away from home to square off against Coginchaug Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Noises' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blue Devils have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
