Recap: South Tahoe Vikings vs. Truckee Wolverines
The South Tahoe Vikings had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Truckee with a sharp 64-39 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory South Tahoe has posted yet this season.
South Tahoe's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jay Butterfuss led the charge by scoring 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Phil Adina, who scored 16 points.
South Tahoe's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-10. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points per game. As for Truckee, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-16.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Tahoe's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Hug at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Hug has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 218 points over their last three games. As for Truckee, they will be playing at home against Wooster at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Wooster has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
