Isabella lost to Verbena back in February of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Isabella Mustangs had just enough and edged out the Verbena Red Devils 13-12. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Emma Baker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and seven unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Aubreigh Davenport, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Ashley Wells, who scored three runs while going 3-for-5.

Isabella's record is now 2-0. As for Verbena, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coming up, Isabella will host Billingsley at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Verbena, they will challenge Dallas County at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
