Recap: Ponaganset Chieftains vs. Mt. Hope Huskies
The Ponaganset Chieftains had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They walked away with a 19-6 win over Mt. Hope. That's another feather in the cap for Ponaganset, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Jason Pincince continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 149 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. Pincince's longest rush was for an incredible 94 yards.
Ponaganset's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Leading the way was Donavan Sacchi and his three sacks.
Ponaganset's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Mt. Hope, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Ponaganset will head out on the road to face off against Rogers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rogers is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. Mt. Hope will take on West Warwick at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
