Basketball Recap: Lewisville Comes Up Short

Lewisville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 73-67 heartbreaker at the hands of the Braswell Bengals. While losing is never fun, the Farmers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 425th, while the Bengals are ranked 56th).

Lewisville's loss dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Braswell, they have been performing well recently as they've won 14 of their last 18 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season.

Lewisville will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Flower Mound at 7:00 p.m. Lewisville is facing Flower Mound at the right time seeing as Flower Mound is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Braswell, they will head out on the road to square off against Marcus at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Marcus knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Braswell likes a good challenge.
