Softball Recap: Sublette Takes a Loss

Sublette extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Monday, dropping them down to 0-3. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lakin Broncs. As for Lakin, their victory ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since May 5, 2025.

For Lakin's part, Kiah Beymer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up 13 Ks. Beymer has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Lakin beat Sublette by a score of 22-14 later that day.
