Baseball Game Preview: Conway Christian Eagles vs. Perryville Mustangs

The Conway Christian Eagles will take on the Perryville Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Perryville will be up against a hot Conway Christian team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. Conway Christian blew past Ouachita 14-3 on Friday. The contest marked the Eagles' most dominant win of the season so far.

Kendall Willis made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

In other pitching news, Eli Brannon looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

Back at the plate, Conway Christian got a massive performance out of Preston Elliott, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most doubles Elliott has posted since back in March of 2024. Bryce Keathley was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Conway Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .524. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher in four consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Perryville hadn't done well against Clinton recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Perryville was the clear victors by a 17-5 margin over Clinton. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Conway Christian pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 7.2 runs. As for Perryville, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
