After a string of eight wins, Ryan's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They came up short against the Birdville Hawks, falling 8-1. The match marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Olivia Buettner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

Ryan's defeat dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Birdville, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-3.

Coincidentally, Ryan and Birdville will both be playing Richland the next time they take the field. Ryan will head out to face Richland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Birdville will host them at 7:00 p.m. on March 14th.
