Softball Recap: Kellis Cougars vs. Centennial Coyotes
Kellis had lost four straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 4-12 to make it five. They came up short against the Centennial Coyotes, falling 13-2. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 11-1 to the Coyotes when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
As for Centennial, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8-1 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.
For Centennial's part, the team relied heavily on Leilani Diaz, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Annalise Macias, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
While Kellis had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
