Chilton County hadn't beaten Holtville on the road since April 12, 2021 but that history sure didn't bother them on Tuesday. The Tigers had just enough and edged out the Bulldogs 14-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tigers have posted against the Bulldogs since April 12, 2021.

Macey Pierce was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Avree Williams, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

Chilton County lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Chilton County and bumps their season record up to 26-6-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Holtville, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-9-1.

Coming up, Chilton County will face off against Calera at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last four games the Eagles have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Holtville, they will square off against Marbury at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Marbury has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.94 runs per game on average), something Holtville will no doubt try to take advantage of.
