Baseball Recap: South Pemiscot Drops Highest Score of Season Against Hayti

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Pemiscot). They never let the Hayti Indians get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Indians: they've now won seven in a row.

Logan Southern made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Southern was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, South Pemiscot got a massive performance out of Parker Carlisle, who went 1-for-2 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave Carlisle a new career-high. Zeke Floyd was another key player, going 2-for-3 with five stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

South Pemiscot always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-10. As for Hayti, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Coming up, South Pemiscot will welcome New Madrid County Central at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Considering the Bulldogs have lost three straight at home and the Eagles five straight on the road, this one might come down to who's more desperate to change their momentum. As for Hayti, they will venture away from home to face off against Senath-Hornersville at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
