Soccer Game Preview: McClatchy vs. Riverbank

The McClatchy Lions will take on the Riverbank Bruins in a tournament on Friday. Riverbank took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on McClatchy, who comes in off a win.

On Tuesday, McClatchy sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over Monterey Trail. The victory continues a trend for McClatchy in their matchups with Monterey Trail: they've now won six in a row.

Christropher Cortez and Tristian Torres scored both of McClatchy's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

Meanwhile, Riverbank didn't have quite enough to beat Hughson on Tuesday and fell 3-2. Riverbank have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

McClatchy now has a winning record of 3-2-2. As for Riverbank, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3-3.

McClatchy was able to grind out a solid win over Riverbank in their previous matchup back in December of 2018, winning 2-0. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bruins turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
