Basketball Game Preview: Lexington Wildcats vs. Boiling Springs Bulldogs

The Lexington Wildcats will square off against the Boiling Springs Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lexington is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.5 points per game this season.

Lexington is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing River Bluff: they outscored them in every quarter. Lexington put the hurt on River Bluff with a sharp 64-40 victory on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Gators: they've now won eight in a row.

Izzy Saville continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6-for-8 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and six rebounds. What's more, she also posted a 75% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cassidy Harry, who posted 14 points.

Lexington was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as River Bluff only posted four assists.

Meanwhile, Boiling Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 58-13 loss at the hands of Gaffney. The contest marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Lexington will need to focus on slowing down Karina Tsisun, one of several Boiling Springs players who made an impact when they last played. She scored four points and seven boards.

Boiling Springs' loss dropped their record down to 8-17. As for Lexington, their victory bumped their record up to 16-4.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Lexington has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 29 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Boiling Springs struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32.2 boards.
