Football Game Preview: Etowah Eagles vs. Walton Raiders + How To Watch

Etowah is 0-6 against Walton since September of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Eagles will host the Raiders at 7:30 p.m. Etowah has given up an average of 32 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Friday, Etowah came up short against Wheeler and fell 34-24.

Etowah's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Zeke Douglass, who threw for 172 yards and a pair of TDs, and Walker Hughes, who picked up 69 receiving yards and one score. Hughes was even better on defense, making one tackle and defending 12 passes.

Walton not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since October 18, 2024 (when they won 42-7). They put the hurt on Cherokee with a sharp 34-9 win. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Etowah better keep an eye on Noriega Thompson. He was instrumental in Walton's win, rushing for 110 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 12 carries. With that strong performance, Thompson is now averaging an impressive 100.3 rushing yards per game. Christian Andrews got in on the action too, returning a kick for a touchdown.

The win got Walton back to even at 4-4. As for Etowah, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Friday's contest will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Douglass and Christion Peacock. Douglass just won't slow down this season and has thrown 10 touchdowns while averaging 161.9 passing yards per game. Peacock has been a dominant force too and has thrown 12 touchdowns while averaging 172 passing yards per game.
