Volleyball Recap: Longmeadow Comes Up Short

Longmeadow managed to slip by Central the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Lancers lost 3-0 to the Golden Eagles on Monday. The Lancers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Golden Eagles earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

While Longmeadow had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 21 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-21, 25-23.

Jace Anoje paced Longmeadow's offense, picking up 12 kills. Anoje got some help from Nhan Vuong and his 27 assists. Vuong was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Longmeadow moved to 11-6 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Longmeadow has already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against East Longmeadow on the 14th. As for Central, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 loss against Agawam on the 20th.
