East Lyme had won two straight home games and Jacob Garro did his part to make it three on Friday. The Vikings took their game with ease, bagging a 42-7 victory over the Griswold/Wheeler Wolverines for which the team can thank Garro, who rushed for 103 yards and one TD on only 12 carries, and also threw for 151 yards and three touchdowns. His passing game has become a key predictor of East Lyme's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 2-4 otherwise.

East Lyme didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Anthony Diloreto.

East Lyme now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Griswold/Wheeler, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-2 record.

East Lyme and Griswold/Wheeler will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Vikings see the field they'll take on Waterford at 10:00 a.m. on the 27th. As for Griswold/Wheeler, their break will end when they face Plainfield at 10:00 a.m. on the 27th.
