Luke Torbic commands the offense for a Little Lions win

Recap: State College Little Lions vs. Notre Dame-Green Pond Crusaders
The State College Little Lions scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They walked away with a 70-59 victory over Notre Dame-Green Pond. The win was all the more spectacular given State College's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 246th, while Notre Dame-Green Pond is ranked 81st).
State College got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Luke Torbic out in front who scored 24 points along with five assists and three steals. Those five assists set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Reed Melvin, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds.
The win got State College back to even at 4-4. As for Notre Dame-Green Pond, their loss ended a eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. State College will take on Carlisle at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Carlisle knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully State College likes a good challenge. As for Notre Dame-Green Pond, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Moravian Academy at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Moravian Academy is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
