Softball Game Preview: Kingswood Knights vs. Stark Generals

The Kingswood Knights will head out to take on the Stark Generals at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Kingswood is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.9 runs per game this season.

Kingswood gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They blew past Laconia 16-4. The win continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Sachems: they've now won nine in a row.

Kingswood got a great performance from Lexi M as she pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. The dominant performance also gave M a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

On the hitting side, Avery G was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Cassidy L, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.

Kingswood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Laconia only managed eight hits.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Stark's offense. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sanborn Regional on Tuesday.

Stark's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Kingswood, their record is now 11-4.

Everything went Kingswood's way against Stark in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Kingswood made off with a 12-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
