Basketball Recap: Beauregard Takes a Loss

Beauregard lost against Valley last Tuesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Beauregard Hornets took a 78-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Valley Rams. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (62), the Hornets still had to take the loss.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayden Weaver, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave Weaver a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Zan Woody, who went 8 of 16 en route to 16 points along with six assists and six boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Beauregard and nudges their season record down to 2-11. As for Valley, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-9.

Beauregard will take on Loachapoka at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Valley, they will challenge Elmore County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.7 points per game this season.
