Football Recap: Southwest Roughriders vs. Harvard Cardinals

On Friday, everything came up roses for the Southwest Roughriders on the road against the Harvard Cardinals as the squad secured a 56-14 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Roughriders.

Houston Billeter had an outrageously good game as he threw for 224 yards and five touchdowns on only 11 passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Damario Koetter helped Billeter out on the ground, rushing for 53 yards and a touchdown.

Southwest's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. The picks came courtesy of Jacob Barber and Dylan Cornwell.

Although Harvard took the loss, they still got scores from Ethyn Whetstine-Jones and Kyle Knueven.

Southwest's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Harvard, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Southwest will be playing at home against Arthur County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Harvard, they are headed away from home for the first time to face off against Hampton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Hampton focused on turnovers this week as team gave up four last Friday.
