Softball Game Preview: Valley Oaks CES Vanguards vs. Triumph Charter Jaguars

Valley Oaks CES is 0-8 against Triumph Charter since April of 2016 but things could change on Monday. The Vanguards will be playing at home against the Jaguars at 3:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Valley Oaks CES was handed a 21-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 19-18 win over Bert Corona Charter. The Vanguards' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Triumph Charter came tearing into Friday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They had just enough and edged out the Lions 6-4.

Triumph Charter pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 20.3 runs over those games. As for Valley Oaks CES, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
