Monterey was the 40-14 winner over Alisal when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Dores came up short against the Trojans on Thursday, falling 62-40. The Dores have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Monterey's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Alisal, they now also have a winning record of 3-2.

Coming up, Monterey will look to defend their home field on Thursday against North Salinas at 7:30 p.m. As for Alisal, they will venture away from home to square off against Aptos at 7:30 p.m. on October 3. The Trojans will be up against the Mariners' rather soft defense (which has allowed 36.25 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
